Halloween

Okay - so we've had a rough couple of days here in the Graham house.

Had to take Piper back to the doc last Friday b/c she still had a cough/runny nose. This is the same cold she has had for almost 3weeks. Her cough is horrible and at night it's especially bad. She had been through 10days of antiobiotics and we have been to the doctor 3 times in the past 6 weeks for respiratory issues. This is one of those things that you have to be careful with when you have preemie, even when they seem to be big and healthy as ours were. Simply put, when babies are born early their lungs simply don't have the reserve to fight off the common bugs that other full term babies are.

So Friday at the doctor he decided to give her a breathing treatment (Albuterol) and send her for a chest x-ray to make sure that there wasn't something more serious developing. (She was very wheezy and congested) The x-ray came back all clear so now she just has to do daily breathing treatments and he put her on an oral steroid to get her airways under control.

She is doing great now - no more wheezing or sounding like she is having difficulty breathing. I really think the breathing treatments have done the job. I hope that it stays this way!

Even with all this going on, we still were able to enjoy Halloween on Friday evening. My mom, sister, niece and nephew all came from out of town to be here. The Beggs come over every year, too to go trick or treating in our neighborhood. It was great to have everyone together, especially since we do not see my mom and sister that often. But it does get kind of crazy with six kids and four adults under one roof. A big thanks goes out to my wonderful husband for putting up with us!

Mr. Dave and Ms. Kristi went along to the pumpkin patch to help us wrangle all three babies and Owen. It was a perfect day. We had a lot of fun. Thanks Dave and Kristi!

Pumpkin carving with the Beggs family has become an annual tradition. Daddy and uncle Beggs end up doing all the carving with AJ and Owen doing the supervising.

Did you know that you can hold a colored post it note in front of the flash on your camera to get a colored photo like the one above? I didn't think it would work - but it did, and it looks so cool!
