Landon gets to come home!

Owen finally got his wish today - he got to meet one of his new baby brothers, Landon, for the first time! He was so excited! I think he had almost given up on ever seeing them. When he did see Landon, he was surprised at how small he was - Owen thought he should be bigger. He said "He's so small I can barely see him"! Then he wanted to know if Landon could crawl or do anything. So we had to explain to him that all Landon (and Kyle & Piper) will do for awhile is eat and sleep. Owen seemed to accept this, although he can't wait until they are big enough to play 'tackles' with him and Daddy!

Landon has done very well in his new environment - the first hour or so that he was home he was wide awake and just looked around like he was taking it all in. It was very cute! He has eaten very well and stayed right on cue with the schedule that was set up by the NICU nurses in the hospital. That schedule should help to make things go a little smoother when we get to bring the other two home.

Landon weighed 7lbs 4oz when he was discharged from the hospital today - he's definitely our heavyweight at the moment! He loves his bottles, he takes the whole thing (approx 80 cc's) in about 10 minutes.

Kyle and Piper are also taking all of their feeds in the hospital by bottle, which means that neither have their feeding tubes anymore (YEAH!). This is a big accomplishment and means that they won't be too far behind Landon in getting to come home. We expect them to be home by the middle of the week as long as they don't have any more Brady's (sudden heartrate drops). Kyle had a brady on the 10th, and Piper had a brady on the 11th. In each case, both Kyle and Piper were able to self correct and bring their heart rate back up almost instantly without any stimulation from the nurses. But because they had these bradys they are there for at least five more days from the date of incident.

As of last night - Kyle's current weight is 6lbs 2oz and Piper's current weight is 5lbs 14oz.

We are very excited about the idea of finally having our whole family together. It has been very surreal to have given birth to three babies, but then to be without them for almost three weeks. Today when we were driving home from the hospital with Landon, Nate kept saying how weird it felt to have one of our three babies with us. It has just been such an experience, and to finally be taking one home to live with us felt very good but at the same time it was hard for us to grasp that he really WAS coming home with us. What a joyful day it will be when Kyle and Piper get to join us here at home!

I want to thank everyone for continuing to pray for all three babies growth and development. We are so close to having all of the Graham Crackers together thanks to you! It won't be long and then the fun will truly begin!
